Tilt switch is robust level switch unaffected by adhesion. They can be used for upper limit detection in storage silos, walkers, chutes, etc. for powder and solid materials.
Not affected by adhesion or electrical characteristics of measured object. Effective when capacitance method cannot detect due to its low relative permittivity.
Suitable for detecting solid materials. Capacitance or paddle type may break equipment when detecting solid materials, but Tilt Switch housed in a sturdy cast metal case are safe because of their shock-resistant construction. Specific gravity is 1.0 or higher, and solid materials with a grain size of 30 mm or more can be detected.

Operating principles
Sensor (detection unit) of Tilt Switch has a built-in tilt switch. When sensor is not in contact with object to be measured, contact between A and B is closed (NC state) via an iron ball.
When sensor is inclined due to accumulation of measured object, iron ball in the inclination switch rolls and contact point between A and B is opened (NO state). In principle, the sensor is not affected by floating dust or adhered objects.
How to use?
Decide mounting position
Avoid direct contact of sensor with an object to be fed, as impact may cause false detection or damage.
Since sensor is designed to detect inclination, install it in a location where there is enough space so that it will not hit a wall or the like even if it is inclined.
Mounting:
Simply screw it to ceiling. Link chain from ceiling to detection position must be prepared by the customer.
Wiring: A relay box is attached to cable extending from detector, so please wire from there to transducer.
Adjustment:
Detection position can be easily changed on site by changing length of optional link chain. Adjustment is completed by setting a chattering-prevention timer on the transducer.
